"Every great hair journey starts with a great consultation."

Consultations

We offer complimentary consultations for both colour and cutting services. Whether you're considering a subtle refresh or a complete transformation, our consultations are a chance to explore your options and get professional guidance tailored to your hair and lifestyle.

What does the consultation include?

During your consultation, you’ll sit down with one of our experienced stylists to talk through your goals, your hair’s current condition, and any previous treatments or colour history. We’ll discuss suitable colour options, tones, or cut shapes that will enhance your features and fit into your day-to-day routine. If you’re planning a colour service, we’ll also carry out a required skin test during this appointment, which must be done at least 48 hours before any colour application to ensure your safety.

What are the benefits of a consultation?

Consultations are a fantastic way to get a clear, honest picture of what’s possible for your hair. You’ll receive personalised recommendations based on your hair type, colour history, and desired outcome. It also gives you the chance to ask questions, understand the process involved, and feel confident in making a decision before committing to a service. Our goal is to ensure that you leave feeling informed, inspired, and excited about your next steps.

What you should bring to your consultation?

We always encourage clients to bring along inspiration photos—these can be images saved from Pinterest, Instagram, or screenshots of looks you love. This helps us better understand your vision and style preferences. If you’ve had recent colour or chemical treatments, please let us know so we can factor that into our recommendations. And for colour consultations, we kindly ask that your hair be freshly washed—this allows us to assess your hair’s true condition and tone, and helps prevent the skin test from being washed away too early.

At the end of your consultation, we’ll provide you with a personalised quote based on the service you’re interested in. If you’d like to go ahead and book an appointment, your stylist may require a 50% deposit to secure the date and time for you. We kindly ask that you take a moment to review our cancellation policy and deposit information before booking. If you’d prefer to take some time to consider your options, that’s absolutely fine, there’s no pressure, and we’re here whenever you’re ready.

Skin Testing

As part of your colour consultation we may carry out a skin test, also known as an Allergy Alert Test is a compulsory safety procedure carried out at least 48 hours before your colour appointment.

It involves applying a small amount of colour product just behind your ear to check for any allergic or sensitive reactions. The test must remain on your skin, untouched and unwashed, for a full 48-hour period, as reactions can sometimes occur in the final hours.

Once completed, the result is valid for 6 - 12 months, unless:

•You or your colourist decide to change the colour product •You get a tattoo or henna treatment (including black henna) •You experience any changes in your medical history such as illness, other allergy's,  pregnancy, or starting new medications.

Even if you’ve had your hair coloured before -  this test is essential , a skin test is non-negotiable,

it’s essential for the safety of both you and your stylist.

Please note : A negative allergy test does not guarantee a future reaction won’t occur, but it significantly lowers the risk.

Top Tip: If you're coming in for a consultation / skin test please ensure your hair is freshly washed beforehand. This allows us to see the true colours and condition of your hair, it also ensures you don't wash the skin test off too soon.
